Overview

India’s North East is a land of undulating hills and plains with luxuriant green cover and a wide variety or rare and exotic flora and fauna.

Consisting of 8 states North East India has some real surprises for the travelers. Not so much established on the travelers map, yet the North Eastern India, has its own charm that will sweep you off your feet. Come here for once and loose yourself in its charismatic magic.

Day 1: Arrive Bagdogra - Darjeeling (90 km/ approx. 3 hour’s drive)

Arrive Bagdogra airport. Meet our representative and transfer to Darjeeling by Ac car.

Darjeeling - standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134 m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks,
with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. On arrival check in to hotel, Leisure and Stay overnight at hotel.

Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 02: In Darjeeling

Early morning, visit Tiger Hill to watch the spectacular sunrise and it’s amazing effects on Mt. Kangchenjunga (world’s third highest mountain). Visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop before returning to the hotel.

After breakfast, proceed on a half day sightseeing tour of Darjeeling that takes you to the Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park,
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self
Help Center and Tea Estate (panoramic view).

Note: Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Himalayan Mountaineering
Institute is closed on Thursdays. The Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre is closed on
Sundays.

Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 03: - Darjeeling - Gangtok (100 km / approx. 4 hours’ drive)

After breakfast, proceed to Gangtok. Wreathed in clouds, Gangtok, the capital city of
Sikkim is located on a ridge at a height of 5500 feet and offers spectacular views of Mt.
Khangchendzonga. On arrival, check in to the hotel.

Day 04: - Gangtok

Today post breakfast, proceed on a full day sightseeing tour of Gangtok which includes visit to Rumtek Monastery, Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park, Do Drul Chorten, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom and Flower Exhibition Centre.

After breakfast, proceed on a half day sightseeing tour of Darjeeling that takes you to the Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park,
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self
Help Center and Tea Estate (panoramic view).
The Rumtek Monastery stands as the largest monastery in Sikkim. The structure took
four years to complete and was called the Dharmachakra Centre. The Rumtek
Monastery offers scenic views of the area around.
Located in the outskirts of Gangtok the Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park is a magnificent and most popular tourist sites in East Sikkim. The ground surrounding the Banjhakri Falls is referred to as the Energy Park due to its use of renewable energy sources.
Dro-dul Chorten is a stupa in Gangtok. Inside the stupa you will find sets of Dorjee
Phurba i.e. the Bajra Kilaya, set of Kangyur relics i.e. the Holy Books, Zung which are mantras and ten Mani-Lhakor which are the prayer wheels.
Namgyal Institute of Tibetology comprising of a museum and a library, is intended to
promote the rich and varied culture of Tibet which overlaps with that of Sikkim.
The Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom was started with an aim to preserve and
propagate the traditional arts and crafts of Sikkim and train local artisans in related skills.
The Flower Exhibition Centre has an astounding collection of rare flowers. It conducts annual competitions and exhibitions of exotic plants and flowers.

Note: The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and Directorate of Handicrafts and
Handlooms remains closed on Sundays.

Overnight in Gangtok

Day 05: - Gangtok - excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir Memorial

After breakfast, proceed on an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir.

The Tsomgo Lake is close to the Nathu la pass between India and China. The lake is at
12400 ft, which is fed mostly by the Himalayan springs, streams and melting summer
glaciers. The lake is surrounded by coniferous trees that are perennial in nature. Due to its finely developed ecosystem, the lake serves as a stopover for migratory birds in the winter. The lake is considered holy and is worshipped by the locals.

Later, visit the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple (Baba Mandir), erected in
memory of Baba Harbhajan Singh who was a Sikh soldier in the Indian army stationed
at Nathu La pass in Sikkim. He drowned in a tragic accident and multiple attempts of
finding his body were futile. Harbhajan Singh’s room was left as is, and converted into a shrine for him.

Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 6: Depart Gangtok – Bagdogra (100 km / approx. 4 hours’ drive)

Today after breakfast, check out from hotel and proceed to Bagdogra airport to board
onward flight toward your native place.
